I'm the same age my mom was when she discovered she was pregnant with me. We always tell people that we grew up together, and we have a really special relationship because of that. We laugh a lot, as you'll see.

I'd say music is what binds us most. My mom sang back-up for Britney Spears back in the day, and was an extra on the Mickey Mouse Club. She passed her musical talents on to me - as well as a name that was supposed to be Justin Timberlake's, if he was a girl. (His mom and mine are good friends.)

My mom says I was born with a light inside of me, and an uncommon joy. A mother's love, right? But I bet most of us rely on mama's words at our lowest moments. I know I'm going to need them, as I embark on the biggest year of my music career so far. Hope you enjoy the conversation with my biggest fan.

The Huffington Post is building a movement to spark conversations between parents and children called #TalkToMe, & they asked my Mom & I to make a video. Here it is!
