Taylor Swift's latest album is titled "Red," but is that an indication of her political affiliation?
The 22-year-old singer refuses to confirm who her songs are about and she refuses to talk politics. While other celebrities, including Lindsay Lohan, and Stacy Dash have gone on record to endorse a presidential candidate, Swift is staying mum on the subject.
When asked by Time magazine if she had been following the race, the "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer admitted that she follows it, but isn't confident enough to talk about it.
"I follow it, and I try to keep myself as educated and informed as possible. But I don’t talk about politics because it might influence other people. And I don’t think that I know enough yet in life to be telling people who to vote for," she told the magazine, adding that she does plan to cast her vote, but she'll need an absentee ballot.
"I’m going to be out of the country [on election day], so I’ll have to get a special form, I think," she said.
Though Swift is dating a Kennedy, we shouldn't necessarily take that as sign she'll be voting for Barack Obama, either.
The pop star, who was rumored to have gone on a date with pious football player Tim Tebow, has strong ties to Nashville. It's a safe bet that though Swift's fanbase is very widespread, many of them count themselves as country fans, who historically vote Republican.
Swift may now be hesitant to let her political affiliations be known, but that wasn't always the case. The singer appears on numerous lists of celebrity Republicans, and she reportedly once wrote "Republicans do it better" on her MySpace page.
