Cost Rica Beach kitchen by Annette Hadley 2016

What does your kitchen and the view from it look like? How does it make you feel?

Do you have inviting window to the outside? Colorful decorative plates or framed pieces that give you pleasure? Do you prefer a sleek uncluttered look? Or would you like to trash your whole kitchen and start all over? Do you feel comfortable welcoming people into that space?

Over the years, I went from sleek uncluttered to now having small beautiful life/love reminders around my sink. I have a sliding glass door and window just to the left, bringing in nature and its light. And when I stand at my sink, I look at Costa Rica Beach. I go there every day. Pura Vida (good life)? You bet.

To the right of my sink is a cupboard where I keep my assortment of teas, along with some antique teacups and saucers and colorful platters and serving dishes from travels abroad. With its glassless panes, the cabinet says "Welcome'" to me and my guests.

I wish I could invite each one of you over right now for a cup of tea and a chat about Costa Rica. We would start in the kitchen until the tea is ready (electric kettle=must have!), then I would carry that and some biscuits (crunchy cookies) on a tray into my living room, and we would sit on my comfy sofas. And enjoy our tea and biscuits and chat.

People tell me they feel so good coming into my home, that it has a sense of peace about it.

What about your kitchen and home expresses your welcoming nature? Do you love what's on your walls? Your furniture and how it's arranged? I remember reading/hearing several times in past years that you should absolutely love or need everything in your home. All other items should be given or thrown away. How cleansing. How cathartic!

I eventually accomplished this, ending up with an eclectic and cozy space. Not fancy at all. It expresses ME, and I believe that's part of why I and others feel so good here.

I'm currently promoting Costa Rica Beach partly because it has such a positive energy. You've been thinking about what you like to put in a certain place in your home. Let me tell you:

This bit of paradise is it.

Today through Saturday, all Costa Rica Beach prints and notecards are 50% off in my online store. Promo code AbArtPuraVida.

Live the good life! Pura Vida! And please pass the tea and biscuits.
