A special education teacher is accused of making a false bomb threat on Monday at the Illinois high school where she works, police say.

Michelle Smith, 36, was charged on Tuesday with falsely making a terrorist threat, prosecutors told the Alton Telegraph.

Calhoun High School was evacuated Monday following the discovery of a typed note in the women's restroom. According to KSDK, the note said:

This school is going down today. KABOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im tired of all the people here. Everyone is going down, the school will b n flames. It is so stupid here. I cant take it ne more. The teachers suck and don't do ne thing to help u. All that matters is what ur name is. If I had certain names I would not have the truble I do. Don't matter, this place sucks and will not be here for long. So long and GOOD-BYE!!!!!!!!!

Police accompanied by bomb-sniffing dogs did not find any explosives when they searched the school.

Smith remained in Jersey County jail on $500,000 bond, and has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the result of the investigation. Her profile on the school's website was taken down on Thursday, according to the Associated Press.

If convicted, Smith faces up to five years in prison, three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine, according KSDK.

According to the Alton Telegraph, Smith was charged with misdemeanor harassment by telephone twice between Dec. 31, 2007, and Jan. 28, 2008.
