Teacher Allegedly Caught On Camera Lifting Kindergartner By Face

Parents in Wharton, Ohio, want to take legal action after a teacher was caught on camera allegedly picking up their 6-year-old son by his t-shirt and face.

Barb Williams, a kindergarten teacher at Riverdale Schools, can be seen on surveillance footage shown above approaching Ian Nelson in a school hallway on May 7, while Nelson was on his way to the bathroom, WAFF reports. The tape appears to shows Williams picking the boy up and putting him against the wall, then lifting him first by his face and then by his shirt.

Williams was suspended from work 10 days, but Ian's parents believe she should be fired. They also plan to file criminal charges.

"I would consider what would happen to myself, if I were to do that to her. If I were to do that to her, I would go to jail," Ian's father, Anthony Nelson, told WAFF.

It hasn't exactly been a flattering week for school officials. Friday, a guidance counselor in Florida was arrested after allegedly driving to work drunk.

And Tuesday, a school nurse in Florida named Marilee Boozer was arrested and accused of stealing her students' pills.
