'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood Admits To Being High For The Entire MTV Show

'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood Makes Disturbing Confession

Following her release from jail, "Teen Mom" star Amber Portwood spoke exclusively with Dr. Phil about her excessive drug use.

"This is actually my first time on stage sober, so I'm really nervous," Portwood confessed on Dr. Phil's show, in an episode which airs today (Dec. 20). "Every time you see me on that show ['Teen Mom'], I am high."

The reality star was recently let out of prison after 17 months. She's had a history of trouble with the law and was sentenced to five years behind bars after a drug relapse in 2011. Reportedly, the mother of five–year–old Leah Shirley was released early from the Indiana correctional facility for good behavior and participation in a substance abuse program.

Before her incarceration, Portwood spent time in a rehab facility to correct her reliance on prescription pills. She now admits to using drugs throughout her rehab stint.

She told Dr. Phil, "I was using a drug called fentanyl ... it's patches. I opened up the patch and I would eat the patch. It was like a three-day patch. It's very dangerous. I was using that the whole time I was in (rehab) ... in drug court and on house arrest. Crazy."

Portwood's drug days are now, hopefully, behind her.
