'Teen Wolf' Fans, You'll Never Guess What Stiles' First Name Is

One of the most beloved characters on MTV’s “Teen Wolf” is without a doubt Stiles, played by Dylan O’Brien.

Fans of the show likely already know Stiles is a nickname derived from his last name, Stilinski. But have you ever wondered what his first name is?

We finally have an answer after six seasons, thanks to Tuesday night’s episode. In it, Stiles’ dad, Sheriff Stilinski, said, “I have a son. His name is Mieczyslaw Stilinski.”

Entertainment Weekly asked “Teen Wolf” writer and producer Jeff Davis what the inspiration was for this unconventional name choice:

I was looking for a Polish name that was incredibly difficult to both spell and pronounce. Mieczyslaw sounded like “mischief.” It seemed like a perfect word to describe Stiles. Both as a mischievous child and equally misbehaved adult.

Sounds about right to us.
