'Terminator 5' Not Happening Anytime Soon According To New Report

He's Not Coming Back; 'Terminator 5' Shelved

So much for "Terminator 5." According to the website Moviehole.net, the film has been put on an indefinite hold because of script issues.

This new report jibes with a quote "Terminator" star Arnold Schwarzengger gave Empire Magazine last month. The actor -- who would have reprised his T-800 role for "Terminator 5" -- said that the film's screenplay was not in good shape.

"They have been trying to put a script together but I've not seen it," Schwarzenegger said. "There's nothing on the board at this point. Nothing on the plan."

"Terminator 5" was announced by Deadline.com with great fanfare back April of 2011. Justin Lin ("Fast Five") was hired to direct the film, but eventually left the project for a sequel to "Fast Five."

Despite the setback, Schwarzenegger is keeping busy. He stars in "The Last Stand" in early 2013, and is also developing a sequel to "Twins," called "Triplets."

"I can see a poster, a billboard, with us three," Schwarzenegger said in April, before adding this tag line: "'They found another one. Triplets. Only their mother can tell them apart.'"

"Twins" director Ivan Reitman, however, threw cold water on the notion.

"With 'Triplets,' I’m quite nervous about it," he told Collider. "I think it’s somebody’s commercial idea, and usually that’s a scary thought. There’s no writer, and there’s no idea yet. I think that was more of a press release than anything else."
