Texas Abortion Law Hits Latinas Hardest, Advocates Say

Activists hope high court ends tough clinic rules.

Paula Saldaña laid the contents of a birth control kit on tables in a San Benito school. She displayed a variety of methods for her audience to see - an array of female condoms, over-the-counter medications, IUD rings, hormonal pills and instructions on natural family planning.

The volunteer activist ran through each method, fielding questions from a group of 15 men and women who attended the presentation. Most of the audience in this class late last year were parents of students who attend the school, the Positive Redirection Center, and nearly all were Hispanic or Latino.
