Texas Polls 2012: What You Need To Know To Vote

If you live in Texas, here's what you need to know about voting on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012.

The closing time for Texas polls is 7 p.m. local time. The opening time for Texas polls is 7 a.m. local time.

Texas will award 38 electoral votes to its victor in the presidential race. The state has voted for the Republican presidential candidate every year since 1980.
