Two women entered a restaurant for lunch, and left with a new friendship.
After holding the door open for an elderly woman who was dining alone, Brooke Ochoa, who was also eating by herself, offered to join the lady for lunch. The woman, Delores, was delighted, and Ochoa shared a picture of the pair on Facebook, which has racked up over 2 million “likes” as of Wednesday.
“We had a wonderful talk, and she just kept smiling and saying thank you for listening to me, which made me smile too!” Ochoa wrote.
During the lunch, Delores told Ochoa that her mother recently died, her aunt s now living in a nursing home and she's having difficulty being alone.
But their newfound friendship made for a happy dining experience for both women.
“Her words healed my heart just as much as I healed her lonely one,” wrote Ochoa.
And the best part? The ladies lunch is now going to be a weekly event.
