Veronica Bobadilla, 16, was last seen Monday at her home in Laurens County, according to Greenville Online.

Family members who attempted to contact Bobadilla received a disturbing message back from the teen's phone: "I've killed Veronica. Stop texting her."

WYFF4 reports that the teen had been threatening to run away to Texas to meet up with someone she had been talking to on Facebook.

On the social media site, a friend of Bobadilla messaged the girl and received a similar message back. "I killed Veronica y'all want [sic] find her" it read.

Authorities said the location of the message was from Lilburn, Georgia. Authorities said the teen may be traveling through Georgia and Louisiana on her way to Texas.
