Best Places To Buy Prepared Thanksgiving Foods

Skip Cooking This Year: Best Places To Buy Thanksgiving Dinner

This year, don't spend hours laboring over the stuffing, sweet potato casserole, green beans, pumpkin pie, not to mention the TURKEY. One of the greatest benefits of living in such a foodie city is that any of your holiday needs have already been met by someone, someplace, somewhere.

Even if you enjoy holiday cooking, it can be hard to make sure you have everything ready on the day (not to mention lacking the oven space to cook both a Turkey and a casserole). We did some research and with the help of Serious Eats, we've put together a listing of all of the places both expected (Lobel's) and unexpected (Momofuku Bo Ssäm) that are helping out New Yorkers this Thanksgiving with prepared foods and turkeys you can purchase.

There are Cajun turkeys, butter-braised turkeys and sausage stuffed turkeys, maple orange sweet potatoes, biscuits with honey butter and more!

Meat Hook
When you buy a turkey from The Meat Hook at The Brooklyn Kitchen, you will be purchasing a bird raised naturally. The turkeys range in size from 10-14lbs and cost roughly $6/lb. There is no delivery, pick up starts on the 20th.

Torrisi's Italian Specialties
Lauded by some as the place to go for the best turkey sandwich in NYC, Torrisi's is selling their house roasted turkey breast for $16/lb. You can order up until the 21st and you can pick up on the 23rd or 24th from 11am to 4pm.

Dickson's Farmstand Meats
Barn-raised (cage free) without the use of hormones or prophylactic antibiotics and fed a purely vegetarian diet, these turkeys are guaranteed to be fresh. You must order by November 15th and they range in price from $60 to $90.

Lobel's There is a reason why this is considered the premier bird. Lobel's offers turkeys raised in stress-free conditions creating an extra moist, plump bird. They sell turkeys ranging from 10-24lbs and they take orders up until the 22nd. Pricing ranges on size and whether or not you want a jar of their famous cranberry sauce ($75-$150).

Ottomanelli's If you are looking for a true "blue ribbon bird" than this is the place with their turkeys coming from an Amish Farm in Lacaster County, PA. The turkey is about 14-16lbs and costs $59.95 if you buy online. They also have delivery in NYC (888) 688-6276, check the website for details.

Hill Country Barbeque
Even if you've decided not to go for Hill Country's "Thanksgiving Feast" don't miss sides like the Texas toast stuffing, Longhorn cheddar macaroni & cheese and white shoepeg corn pudding. Each of these sides is 32 oz. and costs $16. All orders must be made by November 23rd and you can pick-up on Thanksgiving morning from 9am to Noon. For more information call: (212) 255-4544.

Yura on Madison
The extensive amount of available sides will make you want to have three Thanksgivings, with items like maple-whipped sweet potatoes, wildflower honey roast carrots with fresh bay and lemon and cornmeal chive scones. All orders must be placed by 4pm on the 21st. Orders will be available for pickup after 2pm on the 24th. Delivery will be available between East 72nd and East 96th Street after 2pm for orders over $150 (plus an additional fee).

Good Enough To Eat
This UWS restaurant offers classic sides like three kinds of stuffing (our favorite is herb bread & apple), veggies and potatoes priced per pound. You must place orders by the 23rd and pickup on the 24th by 5pm. Call (212) 496-0163 for more information.

Two Little Red Hens Bakery
This UES gem makes pies that will taste just like your grandma's (our pick is the double-crust apple). Call for more information about times and pickup: (212) 452-0476.

Babycakes
No one will know the difference when you serve delicious vegan and gluten-free baked goods this holiday, especially after they try the MacIntosh Apple Crumb Cake from Babycakes. Call for more information about ordering and delivery (212) 677-5047.

Four And Twenty Blackbirds
This year, pick up a pumpkin pie from this uber-hip Brooklyn pie place. Pies are only available on a first come first served basis, so be sure to stop by on the 23rd or the 24th from 8am-7pm or on the 25th from 8am-4pm.

Momofuku Bo Ssam Thanksgiving
