Thanksgiving Recipes From The Bay Area's Favorite Chefs (PHOTOS)

When it comes to food, we tend to set the bar a little high in the Bay Area. So Thanksgiving should be no exception.

But here at HuffPost, we get stuck in a nostalgic rut for the classics. Editor Carly Schwartz longs for her dad's stuffing, especially when she's across the country on Thanksgiving. Assistant Editor Aaron Sankin takes his turkey deep-fried. ('Atta boy.) And Associate Editor Robin Wilkey hangs her head when she's caught licking a can of cranberry sauce clean. So this year, we asked some of the Bay Area's greatest chefs to help broaden our horizons with their favorite takes on classic Thanksgiving dishes.

Some are simple. (Blanch the greens, add the goodies, voila.) Others...not so much. (You didn't think the man behind Flour and Water would use store-bought noodles, did you?) But they are most definitely all delicious. Spice up a classic with Foreign Cinema's jalapeno-spiked greens or try something totally new like Charles Phan's clams with crispy pork belly. Already have a dinner plan-of-attack? Let Ike Shehadeh -- the man behind the famed sandos at Ike's Place -- show you how to make a proper leftover turkey sandwich. (Psst, use Sriracha.)
