Millions of Americans will be heading to the nation's airports in the next two days (check out a list of the 10 busiest airports here). And those in the northeast are sure to be facing delays due to stormy weather.
On Tuesday, both Newark Liberty International and Philadelphia International were experiencing weather-related delays of up to 2.5 hours, MyFoxNY.com reports. Weather was also hampering departures at Washington's Reagan National by 15 minutes, USA Today reported Tuesday.
To the west, a wave of thunderstorms were delaying flights for roughly an hour at Houston's Bush Intercontinental. Similarly, rain and low clouds were delaying flights bound for Chicago O'Hare by up to an hour, USA Today reports.
According to MyFoxNY.com, rain and possible thunderstorms with heavy winds were forecast for the New York City-area through Wednesday. Portions of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and upstate New York were expected to get several inches of snow; 3 inches of rain were expected through Wednesday night in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
