The words you won't say on your deathbed are, "If only I had spent more time at the office." Most people are too busy living their life to stop and imagine the regrets they might have when they are about to die. An old uncle once gave me the following advice. He said, "It is a wise man who can learn from his own mistakes. But it's a far wiser man who can learn from the mistakes of others.

So, let me share with you what many dying people, upon reflection, most regret when they look back on their life. Then, let me tell you what you can do to never have those same regrets.

A regret is usually based on not achieving something you really want to occur in your life. Your regret may stem from not having a particular opportunity occur or not taking advantage of the opportunity when it presented itself. It's also possible that you may not have recognized the opportunity when it was right there in front of your eyes. Having a regret is often a by-product of bad timing. After all, if you try to accomplish something you want - at the wrong time and fail, you may convince yourself that it won't work or you weren't meant to have it. Your failure may cause you to be so frustrated or disappointed that you never try again to achieve your goal or dream.

What if your wish could become a reality instead of a regret? It can, if you pay attention to the transits that occur in your life. Transits are astrological opportunities that present themselves in every area of your life. They provide you with the perfect timing to be successful in accomplishing what you want in life.

Close your eyes and imagine your wishes. Some of the more popular ones are: wishing for the right partner to marry, a job that makes a difference, having children, more money for retirement, better health; or simply traveling more.

You can use your transits to make your wish come true instead of becoming a regret. Of course, you'll need to know when those transits occur and initiate action at that time, to optimize your chances of achieving success. (At the end of this article, I'll tell you how you can find out where your personal transits are.) Here are the regrets many people have and the transits you can use so that you never have them.

Five Regrets People Have When Dying

1. I wish I hadn't worked so hard and spent more time with my family

While everyone needs to work to make money to pay the bills and support their lifestyle, it should never be at the cost of having time to enjoy your family. A better choice might be to cut back on expenses and adjust your family's lifestyle.

Be aware that for many people the obsession to work is an addiction. It's the perfect excuse because it sounds so "damn" respectable to tell everyone how hard you need to work, for so many legitimate reasons.

Working hard because you're dedicated to your job is admirable and in many cases, necessary. However, when your commitment to work becomes excessive, you end up short-changing your mate and your family. If you're a "work-a-holic," you end up making your partner feel less important and destroying the closeness and intimacy that's so important to keeping your relationship healthy. As a parent, you miss out on the major events of your child's life. And, worse, you miss out on valuable "mentoring time," which can help shape your child into a healthy, well-adjusted adult.

To help you re-establish a greater connection to your family, use a Jupiter transit to your 4th House. It's the ideal time to become emotionally closer to your family, plan enjoyable gatherings, and take fun trips. If you've had any major family upsets and want to restore harmony and even heal them, this transit will provide you the opportunity.

2. I wish I had saved more and planned better for my retirement

So many people fail to plan for their retirement and find that either the quality of their retirement life is poor or even worse: they're destitute in their old age. Let's face it, when you're young it's impossible to grasp the prospect of retiring, let alone the reality that one day you will retire. It's easier to imagine that you'll have enough money or that you'll have plenty of years to worry about it. After all, when you're young, you're going to live forever and retirement planning is for old people - which you're not...yet.

There are many studies that show that nearly 50% of people don't adequately plan for their retirement. They focus on the philosophy that they deserve to enjoy their life when they're young while living in denial they'll grow so old that money will be an issue. The realty it is when you're young and earning money that you need to consciously plan for retirement. After all, you can't live off of savings, if you have none.

The solution is to begin planning, saving and investing for your retirement when you start your first job. Keep in mind that most people don't earn enough in their job to retire very comfortably. So, use your most positive transits to invest your savings in incoming producing assets such as stocks and real estate that will provide you with income and appreciation. The way to do this is to buy a home or real estate when Jupiter transits your 4th House of real estate. Invest in stocks when Jupiter transits your 8th House of investments. Use your best astrological timing to plan a prosperous retirement for yourself.

3. I wish I had taken better care of my health

The biggest regret is the most important. Invest in your own good health. Many people take better care of their car than their own body. Or, many of us decide there's no time to workout at the gym because we have too much work to do and making money is our priority. Yet, as the old adage goes: "when you die, you can't take it with you." By the time you realize that you should have taken better care of your health, it's too late.

If you want to improve your body and physical appearance, Jupiter transiting your 1st House provides an excellent opportunity for you. (Just be careful because it's also a time when you can gain weight as well.) If you want to lose weight, take advantage of Saturn transiting your 1st House. It's the ideal time both lose weight and re-evaluate your diet and exercise regimen.

If you want to improve your health - Jupiter transiting your 6th House brings strength and vitality to your body. This is an excellent time for improving your body's overall physical fitness through a new diet and commitment to exercise. If you've had chronic health problems and want to transform your health, Pluto's transit to your 6th House is the perfect time to rejuvenate your body whether it's losing a 100 pounds, weaning yourself off insulin dependency though dietary changes, or going from drug-user to drug-free.

4. I wish I had children

In our modern, fast-paced society where we tend to be narcissistic, it's easy to view having children as a sacrifice, inconvenience or a hindrance to all the great plans we have for ourselves. Many people focus on the practical side and the responsibilities of having children. After all, they cost money - lots of it. They may radically limit your freedom to travel and be out and about. After all, life is no longer about you: it's about them, too. Perhaps, most significant, they change the type of intimacy you'll have with your partner once they're in your life.

As you grow older, when it's too late to have your own children, it's easy to feel lonely and wish you had your own sons and daughters. You realize there's no one to love you, comfort you or leave your legacy to when you die. This feeling is always compounded when you go to family events and see your nieces and nephews and all those babies running around.

If you want to avoid this regret, during your childbearing years, use Saturn's transit to your 5th House as a time to seriously evaluate whether or not you really want children. It's the perfect time to consciously consider whether you want to be a parent. If you do, this transit will help you make the necessary adjustments so that you can have a child. Or, if you have Uranus transiting your 5th House, you may find yourself suddenly changing your mind about not wanting children. You'll surprise yourself by wanting a child even though you've told everyone for years, that you never would.

5. I wish I had married the right person

With the divorce rate well over 50% no wonder many people are fearful of marriage. It's easy to be reluctant to marry unless you find the perfect person for a relationship. Unfortunately, the quest for perfection is the "booby" prize in life since no one is perfect. The result is that it often leads to a lonely life by yourself because the reality is no one will ever measure up to that unobtainable standard. Not even you.

For some, they marry young when their relationship needs and wants are simple or unknown. As time goes by they realize they've married the wrong partner or grown out of the relationship they were once content with. Then, there are those who settle for the wrong mate out of fear of being alone.

If you want to eliminate this regret, look to find your "close to perfect" partner when Jupiter transits your 7th House. This is a lucky transit that will bring you legitimate relationship opportunities that may result in a marriage. Or, use Pluto's transit to your 7th House to meet your soul mate. During this transit you may find someone for a loving relationship that will transform you forever.

Success in life is often based on good timing! Use the positive timing of your transits to help you avoid deathbed regrets and achieve a happier, healthier and more prosperous life.
