This past weekend the 54th Annual ICG Publicist Awards took place in Beverly Hills at the famed Beverly Hilton Hotel. The prestigious awards show co-chaired by Henri Bollinger along with Tim Menke, took place before an audience of more than 900 esteemed Hollywood big wigs including guild members; the likes which included public relations, marketing executives, producers, studio and network executives, celebrities along with press. The sponsors for the 54th Annual ICG Publicists Awards included 20th Century Fox, Twentieth Century Fox TV, FX Networks, Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, Universal, DreamWorks Animation, CBS Films, Deadline, Junket Productions Inc., Sony Pictures, The Walt Disney Studios, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Creative Handbook, NBC Entertainment, Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, City National Bank, Step & Repeat.com, Below The Line, SHOOTonline, and Warner Bros. Photo Lab. This brought together a comprehensive amount of the best and brightest the industry has to offer for one moment to honor those for their incredible contribution to film and television in the past year.

As the award show settled in and the stars took their seats along with the hard working men and women who put in tireless amount of hours perfecting their crafts, Henri Bollinger stated in his opening remarks, “These awards demonstrate the impact that publicists have on the success of movies and television shows. It’s significant that they coincide with the Oscars since both help bring positive attention to the people responsible for popularizing the art of entertainment.” Bollinger’s remarks show how in Hollywood there are several roles to play. It takes countless amounts of individuals to put on production and in the case of the 54th Annual ICG Publicist Awards, promote a television show or movie. The Publicist can make or break a upcoming production. With a strong PR campaign an movie of average popularity can become a world success, thus showing the importance of the role of this important profession along with the reason for honoring their achievements.

The ICG Publicist Awards consisted of other highly anticipated awards including the Max Weinberg Publicist Showmanship Motion Picture Award that went to Deadpool and the Max Weinberg Publicist Showmanship Television Award went to This Is Us. Famed director Jerry Bruckheimer, presented Denzel Washington with the Motion Picture Showman of the Year Award. While Sarah Paulson Presented Ryan Murphy with TV Showman of the Year Award. And lastly, fan favorite actress Renée Zellweger presented Nanci Ryder, Co-founder of B|W|R Public Relations with the President’s Award. All in all, a tremendous day was had honoring those who truly deserved it for their amazing and gifted work.
