Remember this time last year when your Facebook feed was littered with videos of friends getting doused with ice water to help raise funds for curing amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)? In fact, $115 million was raised from last year's ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. And more than 17 million people shared their videos on Facebook which were watched 10 billion times.
One year later the #ALSIceBucketChallenge is back! The goal of the ALS Association is to encourage people to do it "this August...and every August until there's a cure." So this month, Renée Zellweger and Justin Bieber were two of the first celebrities to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
Many celebrities took the challenge last year, including Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Taylor Swift, and Jennifer Lopez. Click on this Parade story to see which celebrities accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge. (And to see 48 more celebrity ice bucket challenges, go to this Parade.com story!)
