The Benghazi Scandal Everyone Ignored

Thusfar, the only scandals arising from the tragedy of the attacks at Benghazi, Libya... have been false reports, selective leaks designed to be misleading, and media manipulations -- all orchestrated by Republicans.

It was called "IssaGate." But, because Darrell Issa (R-CA) is so quickly forgettable, it is perhaps better to re-name it "modern McCarthyism."

This is not just because Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) confirmed that the purpose of the "select" committee on Benghazi was to take down former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, but because that other McCarthy, Joe (R-WI), pioneered the perversion of Congressional Committee hearings as a partisan political tool.

Thusfar, the only scandals arising from the tragedy of the attacks at Benghazi, Libya, that resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stephens, have been false reports, selective leaks designed to be misleading, and media manipulations -- all orchestrated by Republicans.

One, in particular, stands out because Republicans were caught red-handed: the email doctored before it was leaked to ABCNews Jonathan Karl, and then published by ABC News without verifying its authenticity.

That is fraud. And the fraud originated somewhere in the Republican House.

It has never been investigated. Although one might have thought that fraud of that nature would have been sufficient to open an official inquiry, and to have an ethics complaint filed, perhaps the media did not have a basic theme it found persuasive with which to connect it.

Now, we do.

There should now be a complete investigation to answer the following questions:

1.Who composed the altered document?

2.Was he/she acting alone, or was it a conspiracy?

3.Is there any link between the forger of this document and the person who forged the letter to Niger indicating that Saddam Hussein wanted to purchase yellowcake?

4.Who thought of doing this?

5.Who gave it to Jonathan Karl?

6.What did Rep. Issa know, and when did he know it?

7.Who is going to apologize to ABC News and the American people?

8.Who is going to apologize to Hillary Clinton?

9.Should the guilty party reimburse taxpayers for the money wasted by Congress?

10.Why didn't ABC News corroborate its story before running with it?

11.Who is going to get fired?

12.Must Darell Issa be charged with an ethics violation?

The American people want to know who in the Republican House committed this fraud, and why ABCNews was such a willing, or negligent, accomplice.
