Poker Face

We first met Lady Gaga in early 2009, when "Poker Face" exploded to the #1 spot around the world. It went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording, selling 10 million copies in the process. It was her first monster hit, but is it her best?

Alejandro

There's always been more to Gaga than just music: drama, pagentry, and provocation are almost as important. The music video for "Alejandro" caused a bit of a stir, drawing protests and accusations of "blasphemy" from the Catholic League. But controversy sells, and the buzz around "Alejandro" made Gaga the first artist to cross the one-billion view threshold on YouTube.

Bad Romance

Her follow up EP, The Fame Monster, proved that Gaga was here to stay. Its lead single, "Bad Romance" topped charts in 18 countries and picked up two more Grammys along the way. But how does it stack up against the others?

Born This Way

Maybe the best way to describe her second studio album came from Gaga herself: her goal was to make "something so much deeper than a wig or lipstick or a f&%#ing meat dress", and our list-makers think she succeeded. "Born This Way" became just the 19th song to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and helped her rake in over $25 million in 2011.

Applause

Gaga's third album, Artpop, topped the charts largely due to the hit singles "Applause" and "Do What U Want". But is it the lighter, poppy fare, or the more ambitious (and maybe transgressive) edginess that defines her best work?
