Hurricane Sandy made landfall early this week, devastating much of the East Coast in its path. In ways that no one can quite grasp yet, it has interrupted and upended the presidential campaign. And of course, least importantly, it threw late night TV into uncertain turmoil.

At the beginning of the week, David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon decided to go forward with their shows even if couldn't safely get audiences to show up. Jimmy Kimmel's first night in Brooklyn was postponed. And Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert took an unprecedented two days off just one week before the 2012 election.

Once the shows were able to get back on the air, it turned into one of the best weeks of late night in recent memory. This was particularly thanks to Jimmy Kimmel, who invited his idol David Letterman and fellow competition Stewart and Colbert to join him in Brooklyn.

Meanwhile in L.A., Conan O'Brien kept things sunny and dry, but you can only imagine that at least a small part of him wished he was still in New York.
