Amazon is slowly, but surely taking over the grocery space… and the world.

On Friday morning, Amazon announced that it will acquire Whole Foods in a $13.7 billion deal —Amazon’s largest transaction to date. The deal between the companies has caused Twitter to explode with comedic commentary, with many nodding to overpriced goods at Whole Foods and Amazon’s ubiquity.

With the hefty all-cash transaction, many suggested that it was a mistake — perhaps an Amazon Alexa request gone wrong or a simple misunderstanding.

Some joked that the purchase is a way to expand warehouse space.
