Trump's visit to NATO and chastising its Members representing the Atlantic Alliance that has protected all our Democracies since World War Two about Membership Dues was meant to be obstructive as in everything our Idiot-in-Chief says and does. It was the worst presentation to NATO ever given by a President of The United States. Trump prevented any meaningful dialogue from taking place by his harsh remarks when so much could have been discussed to benefit all nations. Trump doesn't work well with others, Trump is his own man, just like Putin. America's greatest embarrassment was seen, you can bet, by many -as Putin's greatest accomplishment.
Trump's refusal to re-affirm America's commitment to Article 5 is the equivalent to saying no to NATO. The One for All and All for One Doctrine is the strength of our Atlantic Alliance. Strike One and All react to protect the One being attacked. That's what NATO is all about, and that's why it doesn't make any sense for an American President not to re-affirm Article 5 especially when the only time it has been invoked was in support of the 9-11 attack on our country. It doesn't make any sense unless you're Putin or you are trying to please Putin.
From all reports, Putin has put a lot of effort and finance in the making of his monster who is now our President. In addition to financing many Trump related projects throughout the world, Putin has developed a portfolio on Trump and many of his family and close associates over the years. Trump coming onto the world stage with his “Birther Issue” was the first fake news with a political point that prodded the legitimacy of our President. In doing this, Donald Trump was destabilizing our Democracy and that had to catch the attention of Putin seeing this route to question Democratic Rule. Trump may have unwittingly sparked the imagination of Putin in ways of attacking the United States. Putin had to see the value -then - of cultivating Trump for future use.
There is no doubt Russia interfered with our election with the only question being how deep was the penetration and was Trump aware of it, beyond a reasonable doubt? Trump has done everything, including obstructing justice, to prevent investigations from going forward. His former National Security Adviser is taking the Fifth and refusing to provide documents. All of Trump's actions, including his refusal to release Tax Returns indicates he is trying to hide the Russian assistance that got him elected and who knows what else ? What else could possibly make sense of Trump’s words and actions at the meeting with the NATO Members- Just what is it that Putin is holding over Trump's head ? At some point, hopefully soon, we will find out everything?
The Republican Congress should be ashamed of itself. One would think the Russian investigation is one of minor consequence by the way the Republican Members have tried every trick in the book to stall and stymie the investigation of Russian interference with our election. The Republican Congress seems to have the attitude that winning an election is the only thing that counts and re-election is everything else.. It's that kind of thinking that makes the deal with the Devil acceptable, but it shouldn't be to -We the People. America, meanwhile, is stuck with a President who will take health care away from Millions of people, give no pay raises, and wage war, and destruction in everything he touches. He has no dept of knowledge in all the issues needed to run our country while keeping us out of harm's way. We don't want the day to come when we view on TV- everyday- the images of our brave young men and women being killed in action for a Commander-in-Chief who doesn't have a clue -especially a Commander-in-Chief who ducked out of war when it was his time to serve.
