'The Canyons' 1950s Teaser Trailer Featuring Lindsay Lohan Premieres (VIDEO)

WATCH: Lindsay Lohan Turns 1950s Star In 'The Canyons' Teaser Trailer

Director Paul Schrader and writer Bret Easton Ellis haved offered up another look at "The Canyons," their new film starring Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen.

The latest "Canyons" trailer, filmed in black and white and inspired by 1950s dramas, gives a peek at the story of Tara (Lohan), "a sensuous woman torn between two loves." Those two loves are Christian (Deen) and Ryan (Nolan Funk). The 50s melodrama trailer -- which includes booming music, sharp gasps, and tears -- still leaves much to the imagination, but viewers are tipped off to the fact that Tara is being used for something evil.

"The Canyons" official synopsis reveals the film is about a group of Los Angeles 20-somethings tangled in a web of exploitation and psychosexual drama (via The Film Stage):

It’s not The Hills… THE CANYONS is a contemporary L.A. noir from director Paul Schrader, writer Bret Easton Ellis, and producer Braxton Pope about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20′s and how one chance meeting connected to the past unravels all of their lives, resulting in deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games and ultimately violence.

The first "Canyons" teaser trailer, released last month, was described by Slate as a "70s grindhouse-style" teaser. A 60s sex-comedy style trailer is reportedly expected next.

Filming of the thriller began back in July. Earlier this year, "Canyons" producer Braxton Pope revealed how he thinks Lohan is perfect for bad-girl Tara.

"What's kind of lost in a lot of the Lindsay discussions is the fact that Lindsay is a very talented actress," Braxton told MTV News. "She's very charismatic and she has a lot of acting skills. So her lifestyle and some of the things that she's gone through have tended to kind of overwhelm the fact, but Lindsay has kind of real talent. So for this part, we felt that she was really the right actor for a host of different reasons."

However, the 26-year-old actress has caused some issues on set. In October, Ellis slammed absentee Lohan on Twitter, claiming the actress failed to show up for an audio dubbing.

"The Canyons" is due out in 2013, but does not yet have an official release date.
