MISSION-VISION- PASSION:
Author, AJ Parker, gives readers a glimpse of what our world could look like if technology, as we know it today, eventually creates a deadly divide that separates our world into two groups.
THE CHIP was written as an entertaining story in the vein of popular novels like THE HUNGER GAMES and the DIVERGENT series but it is also a cautionary tale about what happens when a society is cleaved in two by either real or perceived differences.
SVEN TOORVALD (aka A.J. PARKER) • Writer
A southern California native, Sven began his career as a performer. He graduated from New York’s Neighborhood Playhouse (with Sanford Meisner) and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
As a writer, Sven went to NYU Film School and graduated from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.
In the story of THE CHIP, society is divided not by sex, race, religion, or sexual preference as it is in our world but rather by whether or not a citizen has The Chip. The Chip is a microchip that is implanted into the brain that stops the aging process until it is decommissioned when the person reaches 85 years of age. Those who have it are "The Hybrids". They have a youthful appearance and vitality their whole life and they live in futuristic cities. Those without The Chip are "The Naturalists". They age as we do now and they live in vast farm communities much like the Amish of today.
ED LAVELLE • Producer (CEO/Co-Founder of Beyond Reality Entertainment) Born in Dewey Beach, Delaware. Lavelle graduated with a Masters degree in producing at the prestigious American Film Institute (AFI) Experienced in Production Managing & Line Producing on shows such as BIG BROTHER, AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, THE APPRENTICE and HOMELAND SECURITY: USA. Ed has worked for years with award winning producers such as Arnold Shapiro and Rich Bye.
The recent Black Lives Matter and "Occupy" movement coupled with two presidential candidates that have the potential to either unite or divide us as a country showcase how unfortunately close our modern day society could come to irreparable internal conflict.
MARTIN SOOLE • Producer (COO/Co-Founder of Beyond Reality Entertainment) Growing up in Iowa, Martin Soole graduated from The Webster Conservatory of the Arts in St. Louis. Soole moved to NYC where he steadily worked for six years in the industry. Soole landed in L.A and worked as an associate for Paul Ruddy, C.S.A. for three years. He helped cast content for international brands and established media companies. He also cast feature films that went on to win accolades at film festivals and receive worldwide distribution.
Our hope is that THE CHIP book not only entertains but inspires readers to take actions that promote unity for the well being of everyone.
