'The Daily Show' Analyzes Midterm Election Results: 'Maybe We Can't'

Last night after many of the midterm election winners had been called, "The Daily Show" aired a special, live episode to analyze the results with the "Best F#@king News Team Ever."

Stewart began by discussing the optimism among Democrats leading into the elections, despite everyone else insisting there would be a Republican takeover. Indeed, there was a GOP sweep of the House Of Representatives last night while Democrats remained leaders of the Senate.

Aasif Mandvi reported from DNC headquarters, where the Democrats were still in denial. So much so, in fact, that "Nancy Pelosi had her right hand removed and replaced with a gavel."

Olivia Munn filed her report from RNC headquarters where celebrations surrounded John Boehner, who is expected to become the new Speaker of the House. Munn saw his triumph as an inspiration: "It is the highest elected office ever to be reached by an 'Orange American."

Meanwhile, Jason Jones appeared via satellite from Alvin Greene's headquarters (a.k.a his dad's basement) in South Carolina. Despite the fact that projections overwhelmingly suggested he would lose, Jones reported that Greene still hadn't called to concede because "he's out of minutes."

Stewart also mocked the cable news networks for their unnecessarily high-tech devices used used to cover the results, including holograms, "Tetris fences" and 3-D renderings of the Capitol building. Not to be beat, however, "The Daily Show" unveiled their own high-tech device in the form of a "Holo-suit" on John Oliver.
