The Day The LOLcats Died: A Song In Protest Of SOPA/PIPA (VIDEO)

WATCH: The Day The LOLcats Died

Thousands of websites are participating in a content blackout today in protest of SOPA and PIPA, two controversial bills that would place an unprecedented amount of corporate power behind the censorship of web content and eliminate due process if passed.

While sites like Wikipedia and Reddit chose to take the route of blocking their content for a day, YouTuber LaughPong has taken things a step further by giving the movement its own protest song. It's a reworked version of Don McLean's "American Pie," and it's pretty glorious.

So the next time you hear someone arguing in favor of SOPA and PIPA, just ask them what Ceiling Cat would do.
