It was 1985 when an Italian industrialist decided to create the most magnificent hypercar that the world has seen. This creation went on to become one of the most iconic car's to date, and till now it is arguably the epitome of the most sought after and perfect automobile. If you haven't realised by now, I'm talking about Enzo Ferrari the founder of the legendary automobile company "Ferrari" and his iconic Ferrari F40.

The Ferrari F40 was the brain child of Enzo whom at the very tender age of 87 decided to create his last hooray. He wanted a car that the world will remember him by and something that displayed his ultimate legacy. The F40 would go on featuring a 480hp twin turbo V8 engine with the most stunning of race car looks that anyone has ever seen on this side of the cosmos.

The Ferrari F40 at the time of its release was the fastest car on the planet. Its top speed is 321 km/h and it reaches 0-100 km/h in only 3.8 seconds. In today's standards, it is still very fast.

Fast forward 30 years since the launch of the Ferrari F40, the hype and demand still continues to match that back in 1987. Today there is a stretch of F40 fans that aspire to purchase the last remaining examples. With only 1311 built, they now fetch up to a crazy US $2,150,000.00. Yes you read that right, two point one five million dollars! Taking chasing classic cars to a whole new level.

Many Ferrari specialists predict that the F40 will one day reach phenomenal amounts. So what do I think? Well, if possible, purchase one of these bad boys and hold onto them as long as possible, because like art, these beauties will continue to climb up in value. And besides rarity, to me, the F40 is one of the greatest legacies that Enzo Ferrari has left behind.
