The Final Days of Fashion (PHOTOS)

There was something magical about the way Naeem Khan's dresses floated down the catwalk under the spotlights. These photos might easily be some of the best of fashion week.

I can't help but wonder, what's happened to Diesel Black Gold -- they seem to have not only fallen off the cool roller coaster, but are producing almost nothing lust-worthy. Time to reinvent yourself again. Anna Sui started out as a stylist for Steven Meisel and now she gives us some great fuzzy hats with cute little ears and some prairie-worthy wrap dresses, perfect for any second date. She's come a long way.

I'm including some more pictures of Bibhu's collection because I loved the architectural dresses. May I suggest a trip to Bergdorf. Anna Wintour looked on as former CFDA fashion-fund finalist Sophie Theallet paraded some shimmering dresses at the Milk & Mac collaboration and topped each model off with a cute beret. But if I remember asking some Parisians on a recent trip -- don't the actual French people hate berets and wouldn't be caught dead in one? I did feed my obsession with taking pictures of Anna watching a fashion show. Rochambeau showed at The Standard hotel and gave us sunburned models.

The Blonds were the last show at Milk, and the duo that dresses starlets glittered us into an ongoing love affair. Starting the show with Chinese dragons, each model sported a headdress befitting of a Ming dynasty courtesan. The gaggle of gays flocked to Amanda Lepore, before and after the start of the show.

I once again had a run in with the jumbotron, a fitting bookend for fashion week, Gwen Stefani might have the end of days on her mind for the L.A.M.B. collection -- my Twitter reply to the show was, "fashion meet apocalypse." It was a sensory overload, and not because the clothes beamed from the runway. I still think machine guns are blaring in my ears.

Naeem Khan chose to hold back on some of his elaborate embroidery and go heavy on the feathers. It worked -- I loved his evening gowns and think this collection might be his best yet. There was something magical about the way the dresses floated down the catwalk under the spotlights and against the black backdrop. I crammed next to Anya to snap photos, which might easily be some of the best of fashion week.

The Finnish designer Ivana Helsinki was the last show in the tents, and her beehive hair graced the catwalk to the heart's content for every bohemian gal who's fond of knits and tailoring. We all went to the after party, and it was a ruckus affair.

So the tents are now being unfurled and the fashion tribe is hopping across the pond.
