The Fray Sings National Anthem At NCAA Championship Game, The Public Hates It (VIDEO)

Everyone Hates The Fray

The Fray, the band that brought you the seminal hit "How To Save a Life," performed the National Anthem at the NCAA Championship game last night, and let's just say that it didn't go over well with the public.

Many thought that The Fray's folksy-acoustic arrangement of "The Star-Spangled Banner" was a poor choice for the band.

"The Denver rock band tried to rework the 198-year-old song into a modern hipster version and failed in every respect," wrote Yahoo! Sports. "Finger-picking mood guitar, emo vocals and a guy doing his best impersonation of a Civil War drummer boy make not for a fine anthem. If you weren't listening to the lyrics, you'd have never known the band was singing our national anthem."

But at the end of the day, at least The Fray remembered all of the words to the anthem -- a feat that even the greatest divas can't seem to master. Right, Christina Aguilera?

Here's what the viewers at home thought of The Fray's hipster anthem.

Who butchered the National Anthem more: The Fray or Christina Aguilera? In case you forgot, here's Aguilera's version.
