Whoop Dreams: The Gathering of the Juggalos Documentary You've Always Wanted

Just yesterday, on the last day of my college experience, a Juggalo girl made herself known in my sociology class. Juggalos are everywhere and can be anyone. You could be a Juggalo and not even know it.

I'm from Detroit, so knowing about Juggalos and Faygo soda pop is integrated into my DNA. I can't drive a mile in Metro-Detroit without seeing a car with a Hatchet Man decal on a back window. Just yesterday, on the last day of my college experience, a Juggalo girl made herself known in my sociology class. Juggalos are everywhere and can be anyone. You could be a Juggalo and not even know it.

My favorite podcast, the Filmdrunk Frotcast, announced they were kickstarting a documentary to travel to the annual Gathering of the Juggalos. The best is that they really had no idea what they were dealing with, but were going to go there and film it. I donated money because I thought this was an insane but hilarious social experiment. Kind of like going to a party with no one you know there, everyone is dressed like clowns and pouring soda all over each other. Also, drugs. Lots of drugs.

The main characters in the documentary are some of the funniest people I could possibly listen to, so having them on a big screen being awkwardly uncomfortable is located directly in my comedy wheelhouse. It stars Vince Mancini, from Filmdrunk.com, Laremy Legel from Film.com (That's his real name), Matt Lieb, a hilarious comic from San Francisco, and Ben Kaplan from the Filmdrunk Frotcast.

Combined, they're like the Captain Planet of comedy. A crew from Tall Tale Productions accompanied them to film the whole thing, so they're equally insane for going along with cameras. My Mom always told me, "Never put a camera in a Juggalos face. It can only mean trouble." She never said that.

Whoop Dreams comes out early next year, and until it comes out, you can watch this trailer that will mesmerize you until the release. I've watched it at least 20 times, and that is a low estimate. So go on and watch this trailer and get this movie when it comes out.
