Got writing goals? Maybe you want 2018 to be the year you give the gift of writing to yourself by deciding you’re going to find a way start, to fit writing into your busy life somehow. Maybe you want to try to find some publication outlets for personal essays you’ve been working on. Or maybe it’s the year you’re going to revise that Nanowrimo novel and start querying agents.

The Geek’s Guide to the Writing Life can help you get started. To celebrate its publication December 14, I asked more than 20 of today’s working writers, writers like Tayari Jones (who you can thank for giving me the idea for this project), Dinty W. Moore and Julianna Baggott, to share one of their 2018 writing resolutions. From now through early January I’ll be posting these resolutions every few days on this Facebook page and on Twitter (@wordamour) to inspire you as you develop your own writing goals. Keep an eye on the Facebook page too, for event info, including a Facebook and twitter online launch December 14 with more writing inspiration and prizes.

More about The Geek’s Guide to the Writing Life: emerging from posts that first appeared here and developed into a full-fledged “instructional memoir,” on how you can make a writing life your own, The Geek’s Guide gives you the stories, the inspiration and the practical resources to achieve your goals. Pre-order now to get reading so you can: Make 2018 Your Writing Year!

But who is going to be the first writer whose resolution is featured—TODAY! Head on over to the Facebook page and fins out.
