'The Glee Project' Premiere: Lea Michele Kicks Off The Season As A Mentor (VIDEO)

Lea Michele Is First Mentor On 'The Glee Project'

The second season of "The Glee Project" (Tue., 10 p.m. ET on Oxygen) wasted no time bringing in the big guns to mentor the new batch of contestants. For their season premiere -- after a casting special this past weekend -- they brought in Ms. Rachel Berry herself, Lea Michele.

Michele was on hand to watch the 14 hopefuls let their "geek flag fly," as she advised them. They appropriately performed Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," and Michele was impressed by three stand-out contestants.

While she said she couldn't stop looking at Dani as a person, she needed more from her as a performer. She loved the charisma of blind contestant Mario, but gave the nod and the prize of a personal mentoring session to Shanna.

Ryan Murphy made it very clear to this batch of contestants that there will be only one winner this season on "The Glee Project," but that doesn't mean it's all or nothing. Even though last season had two winners, four contestants made their way onto the show.

This week saw Aylin, Maxwell and Tyler slip into the bottom, with Maxwell having the dubious honor of being the first contestant eliminated.

Be inspired each week on "The Glee Project," Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on Oxygen.
