'The Good Wife' Recap: 'The Bit Bucket' And Margaritas

OK, "The Good Wife," you are great at a lot of things. Being topical is one of them. However, this NSA story ... not my favorite, especially when you have such a meaty story boiling with the Alicia/Cary exit just waiting to burst.

OK, "The Good Wife," you are great at a lot of things. Being topical is one of them. However, this NSA story ... not my favorite, especially when you have such a meaty story boiling with the Alicia/Cary exit just waiting to burst.

The case of the week, Chum Hum and Neil Gross (John Benjamin Hickey) decided to sue the NSA as a backdoor attempt to highlight the fact that Chum Hum stood up to the government agency instead of divulging information about their users as other companies had. Yadda, yadda, yadda, Lockhart/Gardner was successful and Neil Gross was happy. Alicia and Cary are really digging themselves in deeper the longer they stay, which will make for a more explosive exit. Is it desk-throwing time yet?

The most important scene: Alicia and her mom, Veronica (Stockard Channing), drinking margaritas and eating nachos. The best. I would watch a webseries of the two of them talking about their past. These little glimpses into Alicia's past are so fun for viewers. Alicia questioned why her mother didn't like her as a child, which is just a whole other can of worms. The whole margs/nachos situation happened because Veronica overheard Alicia's money problems with Cary and the new firm and secured Alicia's new law offices in a sweet gesture. Can't wait for her to return.

Meanwhile, Diane was asked to badmouth Will to secure her Supreme Court nomination. She refused ... and then was swayed ... despite Peter finally standing up to Dale from "The Walking Dead." Diane's actions will definitely have repercussions. Are we about to see Diane vs. Will again? Fireworks ahead!

Dreama Walker returned as Becca, the former thorn in Eli's side. It seems like she's back helping Grace get hot ... because why not. And the NSA is now investigating the Florricks because of Nisa. A larger story to come, I'm sure.

If anything, this episode was great for one-liners.

Some other things:

"I'm going to start drinking." - Alicia (at her best).

"You're a carnivore. You're a jungle cat." - Veronica to David Lee.

"What, you're the only lawyer in town?" Jeffrey Tambor's judge character to Alicia.

"Jesus has no problem with Grace looking her best." - Veronica.

"The Good Wife" airs Sundays, 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
