You can learn a lot from someone’s Instagram activity. For example, apparently Taylor Swift is that newly single friend who tells her couple friends just how adorable they are on social media.
The couple friends in question are none other than Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, who celebrated Reynolds’ 40th birthday at his favorite restaurant in New York City on Tuesday.
Swift, who cemented her friendship with the couple at the 4th of July Hiddleswift bash we shall never speak of again, gushed over Lively’s sweet post about her husband in a comment on Instagram, according to E! Online.
“Thanks guys,” she wrote. “Now I’m drowning in tears of joy.”
Note that she’s not just happy for them. She’s drowning in tears of joy.
Lively apparently threw a party for Reynolds complete with balloons, party hats and rabbit masks at the sister restaurant of the place they first fell in love ― the high-end Japanese eatery O Ya. (Evidently, the sushi catering budget on “Green Lantern” was astronomical.)
“[O Ya] We fell in love at your restaurant in Boston. We stay in love at your restaurant in NY,” the actress shared on Instagram. “Thank you for the BEST food and memories! You are our FAVORITE!!”
Reynolds returned the social media love later that night, writing: “Best. Birthday. Everrrrr. Courtesy of my wife, buddy, and international spy, [Blake Lively]. With huge thanks to my favorite restaurant in NYC, [O Ya] — and a special shout out to our children for not ruining everything like they planned.”
Ugh, look at us. Now we’re drowning in tears of joy.
