'The Inbetweeners' Canceled By MTV After One Season

MTV Cancels 'The Inbetweeners'

MTV has decided not to renew "The Inbetweeners" for a second season, according to Deadline.

“While we won’t be moving forward with another season of The Inbetweeners, we enjoyed working with the show’s creators and such a talented, funny cast,” an MTV spokesperson said Wednesday.

The quirky teen comedy never managed to replicate the success of its cult British predecessor, failing to make waves with critics or audiences like network's only true scripted hits, "Awkward" and "Teen Wolf."

The news comes as little surprise after MTV head of programming David Janollari (who commissioned the show during his tenure) was replaced by Susanne Daniels, who likely wants to clean house and establish her own roster of shows.
