Wednesday night presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald J. Trump participated in a "Commander-in-Chief" forum on NBC. The two contenders appeared separately, but not equally. The night belonged to Clinton. Of course she had an unfair advantage. She knew stuff.
Trump loves to blame others for anything that doesn't go his way, including the "scum" media, the "unfair" "Mexican" judge presiding over the Trump University litigation, and the "rigged" election process orchestrated by "Crooked Hillary."
Proving the old cliché about apples not falling far from the tree, Donald Trump Jr. tweeted on Thursday, "Was Hillary Wearing an Earpiece During Last Night's Presidential Forum? http://www.infowars.com/was-hillary-wearing-an-earpiece-during-last-nights-presidential-forum/ ... via @realalexjones"
The Infowars.com website Trump Jr. cited floated this asinine story that has been widely debunked. Video confirms no such device was utilized. The Los Angeles Times reports that "Infowars is run by radio host Alex Jones, a controversial figure who espouses fringe conspiracies, including that the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was a hoax." And a report on AOL News states that "Some of Jones' more outlandish claims include that the Obama administration has allowed Pepsi to use aborted fetal tissue in its soft drinks, and that the shooting at Sandy Hook was really a hoax."
Of course, anyone with a lick of common sense would understand the silliness of this earpiece allegation. At the threshold, if she were going to wear a device to get electronic help with her answers, she certainly would have worn her hair over her ear to hide it! Even a phony carnival mentalist would know to conceal such a gimmick.
However, I do understand why the Trump camp would think that Hillary was getting electronic help with her responses. They simply could not accept that someone could be so knowledgeable, intelligent, and articulate without a team of hidden assistants secretly feeding her information. Trump's own dismal performance at the forum only magnified the difference in the skill sets between the two candidates.
There was no earpiece in Hillary's ear. I did, however, see a foot in Trump's mouth.
