'The Leftovers' Final Season Trailer Gives Us A Holy Mystery

Cheese and rice!

The trailer for the final season of “The Leftovers” is here to save us all.

In the new video, we see “Lost” creator Damon Lindelof’s HBO show going biblical, as a flood may be coming to wipe everything out on the seventh anniversary of the Sudden Departure — an event where part of the world’s population suddenly disappeared.

Also, cheese and rice! Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux) might be Jesus. Hey, why not? He’s already got that heavenly body, right?

(That’s just being objective.)

But before we can even see him turn water into wine, Theroux does a very un-Jesus-like thing when he gets complimented on his beard.

Chill, dude. That’s high praise. Praise you should expect if you’re Jesus.

Maybe none of these things will come to fruition. As with the show’s supposed additional departures in its critically acclaimed Season 2, everything isn’t always what it seems.

Perhaps there won’t be a flood, and maybe Kevin Garvey is just Kevin Garvey?

When speculating, just consider the phrase WWJD: What Would Justin Do?

“The Leftovers” Season 3 premieres in April.
