Lowline Goes Late Night With 'Imagining The Lowline;' Reaps Benefit (PHOTOS)

"Imagining the Lowline," the showcase for New York's first underground park, is set up in an abandoned warehouse on Essex and Broome. At night, the warehouse and surroundings grow quiet -- except, this year, on September 13th.

September 13th, 2012, was the evening of the most massive benefit yet for the Delancy Underground team. James Ramsey and Dan Barasch have been trying to make their visionary park a reality for eleven months, gaining the support of Kickstarter backers, neighborhood groups, city council members, and, most recently, Experiments in Motion, a design and innovation partnership of Columbia University and Audi of America. The evening of September 13th, though, was the first day they received the public support of Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver (who, perhaps more importantly, happens to be the councilman for the city district Delancy Underground wants to build in) and perhaps saw how truly decadent an Audi-made benefit dinner could be.
