'The New Normal' Attacks 'Christian Values, The Traditional Family,' Say One Million Moms

'The New Normal' Represents 'The Moral Decay' Of TV, Says Notorious Anti-Gay Group

"The New Normal" doesn't make its official NBC premiere for another two weeks, yet advance criticism of the show's gay plotlines and characters continues to build ahead of its debut.

As Right Wing Watch reports, notorious right-wing pundit Bryan Fischer featured Monica Cole of One Million Moms, the infamous women's subgroup of the American Family Association, on his "Focal Point" show.

Cole proceeded to slam the show for "[continuing] to attack Christian values, conservative values, the traditional family...you cannot recreate the biological will."

The criticism comes just days after a Mormon-owned NBC Utah affiliate announced it was yanking "The New Normal" from its fall lineup for its "explicit" and "offensive" content.

Still, Cole's remarks are hardly surprising. In 2011, One Million Moms condemned "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy for being an "open homosexual" and for "pushing political correctness and his lifestyle choice on teens" via his hit television series, Right Wing Watch reported.

Defending his show as "a discussion of tolerance," Murphy has said, "Actually, if they watched it, I think they would like it."

Cole's group is perhaps best known for threatening to boycott JCPenney, after the retail group hired Ellen DeGeneres, who is openly gay, as its spokeswoman. Members of the group also blasted JCPenney in May, after the Texas-based chain included a lesbian couple as models in its Mother's Day shopping catalog, and yet again in June after a gay male couple was featured in the Father's Day edition.

Since then, One Million Moms targeted Oreo for the cookie brand's controversial endorsement of Pride month in June, and also denounced DC Comics and Marvel Superheroes for introducing gay characters into their phenomenally popular comic book titles.
