The New 'Suicide Squad' Trailer Is Full Of Laughs, Harley Quinn And Batfleck

Superman never had this much fun.

Finally, a break from the superhero doom and gloom.

A new trailer for "Suicide Squad" debuted during the MTV Movie Awards, which aired Sunday, and we're happy to report that there's nary a dream sequence or Lex Luthor-like plotting in sight. Just bad girls, guys and crocs banding together to take some shots and save the world. Not necessarily in that order.

Most notably, DC's latest effort takes a lighter tone with the superhero material, perhaps in an attempt to avoid the common criticism of sister flick, "Batman v Superman."

Last week, reports swirled that reshoots were ordered from the Warner Bros. powers that be to infuse the film with more humor, in light of the creative failings of "BvS." Director David Ayer responded on the contrary Monday, shooting down the "reshoots for humor" reasoning.

Actor Jai Courtney also weighed in, describing more action as the motivation behind the reshoots.

"I wouldn’t say we’re going back to make it funnier, there’s some additional action stuff that we’ve been doing, which is pretty dope,” Courtney told Entertainment Tonight. “Really we’re just kind of adding in that sense.”

"Suicide Squad" hits theaters Aug. 5.
