The New Testament in LEGOs (PHOTOS)

People should know what's in the Bible. It's the best-selling book of all time. It's revered by millions as our ultimate moral guide--even the very word of God. Yet when it comes to actually reading the Bible--I mean really reading it, cover to cover--very few of us ever do. But no matter where you fall on the spectrum of belief from pious to infidel, the Bible is so influential and important in our society that we all should know it and know it well.

For the past 10 years, I've been working on a project to help people familiarize themselves with the Bible in a way that's engaging and fun, yet accurately presents the Bible's own words. My approach has been to illustrate all of the Bible's content with characters and settings constructed entirely out of LEGO® bricks, and to relate the stories using direct quotes of scripture.

With hundreds of Bible stories now illustrated, it's very gratifying that my work has won ardent fans among clergy, believers, agnostics, and atheists. It is not my goal to change people's beliefs about the Bible, but to increase their knowledge of the Bible so their own perspective on it is better informed.

Following last year's publication of the widely-praised and somewhat controversial The Brick Bible: A New Spin on The Old Testament, I am pleased to present selected images from the newly-released The Brick Bible: The New Testament - A New Spin on the Story of Jesus [Skyhorse Publishing, $19.95].
