When we look to buy a meal, what are we looking to get out of it? It seems like we're often look for what tastes good, of course, and we also look at the cost.

It is time to restructure some of our beliefs pertaining to food in order to get the most out of our diets.

We need to start looking at the cost in a new light: what health value can it give us? Let's take a look at all the things food can do for us.

Maybe some people would rather have a $1 fast food meal than a $7 salad, and I totally get it- there are politics about the economics of healthy food that definitely need to be addressed. But let's look at how these different items serve us- the fast food meal will often lead to heart disease, diabetes, and plenty of other health issues down the line (which ironically end us costing way more in medical bills), while the $7 salad helps your digestion, contributes to the functioning of all your organs, helps give you energy, and mental clarity.

We often consider a "value meal" something in fast food that delivers lots of food for a great price, but which of these things are delivering the most value in the long run? Is "value" a filling meal, for a cheap price? Or is "value" a meal that delivers jam-packed nutritional benefits that increase to your overall wellness and help you live your best life? Of course, we can use those price differences to make a point, but $1 worth of bulk grains is also far healthier and beneficial than a $1 fast food meal, which is cost-effective as well.

Maybe you already eat healthy, and that's great -- you can still expand on getting the most benefits of food by eating food according to what you need? Have a cold? Skin dull? Need more energy? Food can often be the solution for many of our body issues, and when we find the foods that help us, we are truly addressing our needs.
