'The Office' Presents 'The Farm,' The Backdoor Pilot Of Dwight's Canceled Spinoff (VIDEO)

'The Office' Presents The Backdoor Pilot To 'The Farm'

This week, fans got a chance to see the backdoor pilot for what would have become "The Office" spin-off, "The Farm." While Todd Packer was getting revenge on the rest of the gang at the office by drugging them via cupcakes, Dwight headed home for the funeral of his Aunt Shirley.

Oscar was dragged along to act as the voice of the audience, asking who the various people were as they showed up. In this way, the cast of the spin-off was introduced, including Dwight's brother, Jeb, and his sister, Fanny. Aunt Shirley had apparently raised Dwight, acting more like a mother to him than his real mother.

In her video diary, Aunt Shirley said that she was leaving the farm to Dwight and his siblings, so long as they all moved home to help run it. They took a few days to think about it, before ultimately deciding to take it on. Dwight even had a little bit of bonding time with Fanny's young son.

NBC ultimately passed on "The Farm" as a series, making this just another random trip to Dwight's life outside of the office. That left ScreenCrush wondering if this storyline will be folded into the final episodes of "The Office," or simply abandoned.

Tune in to find out on "The Office," Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
