The Onion Predicted Radio Shack Going Bankrupt Back In 2007

The Onion Saw This Coming A Loooong Time Ago

Great. Where will get our coaxial cables and cordless phones now?

It's hard to believe that Radio Shack has been in business for 94 years, especially after behemoth stores like Best Buy opened up and smart phones replaced our TVs and landlines. But now it looks like the old school electronics chain might be going bankrupt and splitting things up with Sprint or Amazon, which reminded us of one of our favorite headlines from The Onion back in 2007:

Actually, all of their Radio Shack pieces are funny, but this one rings hilariously true now that we might be seeing the end of the ol' Shack:

"There must be some sort of business model that enables this company to make money, but I'll be damned if I know what it is," CEO Julian Day said. "You wouldn't think that people still buy enough strobe lights and extension cords to support an entire nationwide chain, but I guess they must, or I wouldn't have this desk to sit behind all day."

According to The Onion, Radio Shack should have been out of business 10 years ago:
