The Onion's Joe Biden Getting Autobiography, 'The President Of Vice'

The Onion's Joe Biden Getting His Own Book

Joe Biden is getting his own autobiography, and it's being written by The Onion.

Keep in mind, the book's subject will not be the actual Vice President Joe Biden. This book, entitled "The President of Vice: The Autobiography of Joe Biden," will be released exclusively as a Kindle Single on Friday, and is the story of the Joe Biden created by the satirical newspaper who happens to share a profession, likeness and distant mannerisms as President Obama's second-in-command.

The New York Times' Dave Itzkoff first reported the release.

Upon being named Barack Obama's running mate in 2008, Biden quickly become one of The Onion's funniest targets for humor. The parodies even scored a Times profile about the popularity of their Biden incarnation, in which the Vice President responded to the tributes. ("I am flattered that they think the skits [sic] on me are totally inconsistent with my personality," he said.)

Their version of Biden is a single, stuck-in-the-'70s "embarrassing uncle" type known to wash his Trans Am in the White House driveway and hitchhike to the Democratic National Convention.

The Onion's Biden is also an active social media presence. He took over the outlet's Twitter feed during the Vice Presidential debate (as "Diamond Joe" Biden), and will do a Reddit AMA on Friday at 3 p.m. EST, according to the Times.
