Today Magenta announced that they will be the first MO (mobile operator) to carry the Samsung Tab. This would be the company's first Android tablet. The Tab will be available at T-Mobile retail locations on November 10th. The tablet will run customers $399.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year service agreement and qualifying rate plan. If you would like additional information on the Samsung Galaxy Tab head over to the T-Mobile official site and sign-up to receive alerts.

One of the best-selling points for owning a Tab is being on T-Mobile's HSPA+ network. The Galaxy Tab should enjoy a nice boost in download and upload speeds. This should make features like Qik Video Chat a pleasure to use.

I am still a bit weary on the list price -- $399.99. The 16 GB iPad with Wi-Fi starts at $499 so consumers might debate the use case. I think that if the Tab was $100 cheaper -- Magenta would not be able to keep up with the orders.

Entertainment Features:
  • Slacker Radio -- Allows anyone to listen to free personalized radio by offering 130 stations.
  • Qik Video Chat -- Enables customers to connect with friends and family through T-Mobile's network and Wi-Fi. With the Galaxy Tab's front-facing camera paired with Video Chat through Qik, customers can hold video conversations with those who have a Galaxy Tab or other compatible mobile device or PC.
  • Samsung Media Hub -- Offers a vast lineup of films and TV programs for rent or purchase. Customers can share content on up to five Media Hub-enabled devices, watch movies in seconds with Progressive Download, and get access to new release movies - some the day they are released on DVD. Customers can also watch series premieres and their favorite TV shows the day after they air.
  • Amazon Kindle for Android -- Application provides direct access to more than 600,000 books.
Let's not forget the customers will also have access to the Android Market place which now boasts
.
