Internationally successful novelist Lauren Weisberger is serving a hot new novel, The Singles Game. In her new book, Lauren explores the dangerous and delicious intersection of relationships, ambition, celebrity and reinvention in the exciting world of professional tennis. Lauren did extensive research with exclusive backstage access to tournaments at Wimbledon and the US Open to interview the people in the know for the grit and glamour. Her inspiration was simple, “I’m a big tennis fan, and I’ve always been interested on what it would look like behind the scenes on the tour. The confluence of fashion and celebrity with a super high level of talent always appealed to me, and it was great getting to research this book and learn even more about the players.” “The Singles Game” is the story of tennis prodigy Charlotte “Charlie” Silvers rise to sports superstar from a sidelining injury and tournament loss. Once Charlie hires a Machiavellian tennis couch her career and life have an A game. Readers get a backstage pass through her refashioned celebrity athlete’s lifestyle. Red carpets, mega yachts and player’s parties are the backdrop for the story of Charlie’s challenges in love, sex and games.

Lauren’s own ascension began when the Cornell graduate published the roman a clef, “The Devil Wears Prada”. Being a scribe for her the rewards, “My greatest pleasure as a writer is, and always will be, having a very young reader tell me that she’s never loved reading, or really doesn’t read much, but that she just read one of my books and now will reconsider. It really doesn’t get better than that.” Her blockbuster writing career continued with “Everyone Worth Knowing” inspired by decadent tales of dating and society in Gotham. She went on to compose New York Times Best-selling novels , ”Last Night at Chateau Marmont”, “Chasing Harry Winston “and “Revenge Wears Prada”. Her books have sold more than 13 million copies worldwide. Naturally Hollywood came calling and Lauren answered. “The Devil Wears Prada” was made into a major motion picture starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.

Could there be a movie of “The Singles Game”? Lauren rhapsodizes, “I’d love it if they adapted The Singles Game for the big screen! I was so happy with The Devil Wears Prada movie, so if it would be anything even remotely like that, I would be thrilled.
