'The Situation' Rehab: Star's Father Speaks Out As 'The Confrontation'

More Details Emerge On Sitch's Addiction

By now, we all know that "Jersey Shore" cast member Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino has checked into rehab, reportedly at Cirque Lodge in Utah to treat his addiction to prescription medication.

But what we didn't know is that Sorrentino's father (who delightfully calls himself "The Confrontation") had spoken openly about the problems that have plagued his fist-pumping son, who allegedly first entered rehab two years ago, at age 27.

In a video interview posted on Metacafe.com, the elder Sorrentino says:

“For me, after years of dealing with his addiction, years of dealing with all the bullsh*t, this wasn’t a 16-year-old kid. The guy was a 27-year-old man. I was just hoping he would be able to stand up."

He also described in detail his son's first time dealing with addiction:

"When Mikey was in rehab we found the facility for him in Florida and we brought him down here and did a 7 day dry out period then he went to another facility for 30 days … I did all the leg work in Florida and to make sure he got here and to make sure that we secured a spot because he so desperately needed the help."
