The Situation Signs MTV Development Deal

The Situation Going Solo

Responding to a worldwide outcry at the desperate shortage of Michael Sorrentino exposure, MTV has signed The Situation to a development deal that should give him his very own TV show.

The breakout star of the unlikely phenomena "Jersey Shore," Sorrentino has become known for his lust for life, finely developed abdominal muscles and seemingly-endless stream of eloquence. He's racked up major endorsement deals, including for his own line of protein-infused vodka, and made appearances on shows such as "Dancing With The Stars," and "The Roast of Donald Trump." Sorrentino has also penned a self-help book and starred in his own workout DVD

Now, he'll be filming a pilot for his own show, following in the footsteps of "Jersey Shore" co-stars Pauly D and Snooki and JWoww.

In February, Sorrentino said that he was planning on moving away from "Jersey Shore," and reality TV altogether.

"There's only so long you can rule the reality world," he said. "Maybe another year or so of reality, and then I'm gonna graduate to movies... It's like Michael Jordan. There's only so long you can keep winning them rings."

For their upcoming season, he and his "Jersey Shore' cast mates will be heading to Italy, which has made the locals less than pleased.
